Devlog #1 – Vorrak Enters the Arena (Boss Reveal)
What’s up! This is my first official devlog for my solo FPS project — think Doom-style speed and violence, but with my own twist.
Let me introduce you to the first boss-class enemy I’ve been working on:
Vorrak – The Rampaging Bull
Meet Vorrak — a brutal, mace-wielding monster built to smash you into paste if you stand still too long. This guy is the first real "boss wall" in the game — once you meet him, it’s either kill or be killed.

Vorrak’s Attacks (3 total for now)
He’s got three close-range melee attacks, no magic, no BS — just pain:

Ground Slam

Both maces crash into the floor. Big AOE damage. Don’t be close when this happens.

Left Arm Swing

A fast, heavy swing from his left mace. Used when you’re circling or strafing too close.

Right Arm Swing
-
Same idea, different side. Slightly slower, hits harder.

Right now, there’s no dodge mechanic, so this boss fight is all about movement, smart positioning, and raw aggression — like classic Doom fights.
💻 Behind the Scenes (Solo Dev Life)
It’s just me building this, piece by piece. Vorrak’s model is in, his animations are in progress, and I’m working on:

Attack telegraphs (subtle tells before each move)

Better hit impact (blood, sounds, maybe screen shake)

Balancing his speed so he feels dangerous, not cheap
I’m keeping the gameplay tight, brutal, and momentum-driven. This is an FPS where you don’t camp, you don’t wait, you fight.
